On 6 July 2024, at the 750-year-old Aldenham Church, Kevin successfully presented his third solo recital of the year, once again moving dozens of elderly audience members to tears. In the closing remarks, the host said that everyone should remember the name Kevin Tan, because his music and kindness would one day lead him to the world’s great stages.
One elderly woman could hardly speak, yet she held Kevin’s hands tightly, trembling as she expressed her emotion through tears and soft words. The other two elderly asked Kevin to sign their programs, giving him, for the first time, the joy of feeling like a celebrity; the gentleman even joked that Kevin should go home and design a proper signature. Another audience member, the elderly woman in the white top, came from a family with several professional musicians. She praised Kevin’s performance as being far more than a presentation of music, saying that it conveyed a rare and deeply personal affection.
